Early on the morning of April 4, 2026, Norwegian Luna (Norwegian Cruise Line) was docked at PortMiami at the beginning of her inaugural Caribbean season. Delivered only a month earlier, the new Prima Plus-class ship was preparing to depart later that day on her first seven-day Caribbean cruise from Miami.
Entering service in 2026, Norwegian Luna is the second ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s expanded Prima Plus Class. Built by Fincantieri in Marghera, Italy, she is a sister to Norwegian Aqua and features new attractions including the Aqua Slidecoaster, Glow Court, Luna Midway, and Moon Climber.

Construction and Entry Into Service:
Norwegian Luna was constructed by Fincantieri at its Marghera shipyard near Venice, Italy.
She is the second Prima Plus-class ship, following Norwegian Aqua, which entered service in 2025.
The Prima Plus ships are approximately 10 percent larger than the earlier Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva.
Fincantieri delivered Norwegian Luna to Norwegian Cruise Line on March 5, 2026.
Following delivery, she crossed the Atlantic and arrived in the United States on March 23.
The ship was officially christened at PortMiami on March 27, only days before beginning her regular Caribbean service.
Design and Features:
The Aqua Slidecoaster combines elements of a waterslide and roller coaster into one attraction.
Ocean Boulevard provides a large outdoor promenade wrapping around the ship.
Glow Court is a digital sports complex featuring an interactive LED floor.
Luna Midway offers outdoor carnival-inspired games.
Moon Climber provides a multi-level obstacle course designed for families.
The ship also features infinity pools, an Observation Lounge, extensive dining and entertainment venues, and outdoor spaces designed to provide views of the sea.
Service:
Miami became the first homeport for Norwegian Luna following her delivery in March 2026.
Her inaugural season includes Caribbean and Bahamas cruises sailing roundtrip from PortMiami.
On April 4, 2026, Norwegian Luna began her first seven-day Caribbean cruise from Miami.
Her first Caribbean itineraries included destinations in Honduras, Mexico, and Belize.
Later 2026 itineraries include additional Eastern Caribbean cruises and visits to Norwegian Cruise Line’s resort destinations.
As of September 2026, Norwegian Luna remains in active service from Miami.
Prima Plus Class:
Norwegian Luna is the second member of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima Plus Class.
The series began with Norwegian Aqua in 2025.
