Carnival Panorama was in Long Beach, California, on August 30, 2025, during a turnaround between two different Mexican cruise itineraries. Her preceding six-night voyage had been scheduled to include an extended visit to Cabo San Lucas and a call at Ensenada. The next sailing was an eight-night Mexican Riviera cruise, with scheduled calls at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas before returning to Long Beach on September 7.
Built by Fincantieri at Marghera, Italy, Carnival Panorama entered service in December 2019 as the third ship in Carnival Cruise Line’s Vista class. Her introduction brought a newly built Carnival ship to a West Coast homeport for the first time in approximately 20 years, strengthening the company’s longstanding presence in Southern California.
The August 2025 gallery documents the ship nearly six years after her introduction. By this time, Carnival Panorama was an established part of Long Beach’s cruise operations, combining the scale and facilities of a large contemporary cruise ship with itineraries along Mexico’s Pacific coast.

History and Features
Construction and Vista-Class Development:
Carnival Panorama was built at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard near Venice, Italy.
Delivered in October 2019, she followed Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon as the third ship in Carnival Cruise Line’s Vista-class series.
The design combined extensive outdoor recreation areas with a wide selection of restaurants, entertainment spaces and accommodation.
At approximately 133,500 gross tons, she represented one of Carnival’s largest ship designs before the introduction of the later Excel class.
A New Ship for the West Coast:
Carnival Panorama began passenger service from Long Beach on December 11, 2019.
Her first sailing was a special three-night voyage to Ensenada.
Regular Mexican Riviera cruising followed later that month.
Her arrival marked the first time in approximately two decades that Carnival had based a newly built ship on the West Coast.
Long Beach became her homeport from the beginning of her passenger career, rather than a later deployment following service elsewhere.
Outdoor Decks and Recreation:
SkyRide provides a suspended, pedal-powered ride above the upper decks.
The outdoor recreation areas also include a ropes course and miniature golf.
WaterWorks incorporates waterslides and water-play facilities.
These attractions reflect the Vista-class emphasis on making outdoor deck space an active part of the cruise experience.
Quieter areas include the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, providing an alternative to the ship’s busier recreation spaces.
Sky Zone at Sea:
Carnival Panorama introduced the first Sky Zone trampoline park at sea.
The indoor facility occupies a space extending through two deck levels.
Its activities include trampoline sessions and games incorporating basketball and dodgeball.
The addition gave Carnival Panorama a distinct recreational feature within the Vista-class series.
Carnival Kitchen and Dining:
Carnival Kitchen debuted aboard Carnival Panorama as Carnival’s first dedicated culinary studio.
The venue was designed for hands-on cooking classes led by the ship’s culinary team.
Its equipment includes individual preparation stations and a separate area for dining.
Other dining venues include Bonsai Teppanyaki, JiJi Asian Kitchen and Cucina del Capitano.
Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse combines barbecue dishes with beer brewed aboard the ship.
Accommodation and Interior Spaces:
The ship offers several accommodation groupings intended for different passenger preferences.
Family Harbor includes family-oriented staterooms with access to a dedicated lounge.
Havana accommodation is associated with a themed bar and pool area.
Cloud 9 Spa accommodation provides access to additional spa-related amenities.
The central atrium incorporates Carnival’s Dreamscape LED display, creating a changing visual centerpiece within the ship.
August 30, 2025 – Long Beach:
The published schedule placed Carnival Panorama back in Long Beach on August 30 following a six-night cruise that began on August 24.
That preceding itinerary included Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada.
August 30 was also the departure date for her next eight-night voyage.
The onward itinerary was scheduled to begin with two days at sea before Puerto Vallarta on September 2.
Mazatlán, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas were listed for the following three days.
A final day at sea preceded the scheduled September 7 return to Long Beach.
Southern California and the Mexican Riviera:
Carnival Panorama’s Long Beach deployment connects Southern California with ports on both the Mexican mainland and the Baja California peninsula.
The eight-night itinerary offered an additional destination at La Paz alongside the established Mexican Riviera ports of Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas.
Her August 30 turnaround illustrates the alternating cruise lengths offered from the same homeport.
These photographs form part of the record of Carnival Panorama’s continuing West Coast service during the summer of 2025.
