Celebrity Equinox (Celebrity Cruises) was docked in Marseille on September 1, 2026, during her summer Mediterranean season. The Solstice-class ship spent the day alongside several other cruise ships in the busy French port before departing that evening.
Entering service in 2009, Celebrity Equinox is the second of Celebrity Cruises’ five Solstice-class ships. Built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, she introduced travelers to many of the features associated with the class, including the real-grass Lawn Club high on the ship’s upper decks.

Construction and Entry Into Service:
Celebrity Equinox was built by Meyer Werft at Papenburg, Germany.
She entered service in 2009 as the second member of Celebrity Cruises’ Solstice Class.
The ship followed Celebrity Solstice, which introduced the class in 2008.
Her arrival was part of a major expansion and modernization of the Celebrity Cruises fleet.
Design and Features:
One of the ship’s most recognizable features is the Lawn Club, an outdoor area featuring a half-acre of real grass.
The multi-level Grand Foyer forms a central gathering point within the ship.
