In the early morning hours of April 4, 2026, the MSC World America (MSC Cruises) was docked at PortMiami before sunrise. With the ship fully illuminated against the dark morning sky, it was a great opportunity to see one of MSC Cruises’ newest and largest ships before the start of another day in Miami.

Delivered just over a year earlier in March 2025, MSC World America is the second ship in MSC Cruises’ World Class and a sister ship to MSC World Europa. Built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, the ship was designed specifically with the North American cruise market in mind while retaining the international character of MSC Cruises.

History and Features

Construction and Launch:

  • MSC World America is the second ship in MSC Cruises’ World Class, following MSC World Europa, which entered service in 2022.

  • Construction began at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, in October 2022.

  • Her keel-laying ceremony took place on May 31, 2023.
