Early on the morning of April 4, 2026, the Norwegian Encore (Norwegian Cruise Line) was docked at PortMiami during her season of Caribbean cruises from Miami. Entering service in 2019 as the fourth and final ship of the Breakaway Plus Class, Norwegian Encore is one of the largest ships in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.

History and Features
Construction and Launch:
Construction of Norwegian Encore began at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, with the ceremonial cutting of the first steel in January 2018.
She was built as the fourth and final member of Norwegian Cruise Line's Breakaway Plus Class.
Her keel-laying ceremony took place at Meyer Werft in November 2018.
Construction continued inside Meyer Werft's enormous covered building dock, where much of the vessel was assembled before being floated out.
Norwegian Encore emerged from the building dock in August 2019.
On September 30, 2019, she began the unusual conveyance down the narrow Ems River from Papenburg toward the North Sea.
The ship continued to Eemshaven in the Netherlands for final preparations and sea trials.
Norwegian Cruise Line formally took delivery of Norwegian Encore in Bremerhaven, Germany, on October 30, 2019.
Her completion brought Norwegian's four-ship Breakaway Plus construction program to an end.
Naming and Entry Into Service:
Following delivery, Norwegian Encore operated preview events in Europe and the United States before beginning regular passenger service.
The ship arrived in Miami, which had been selected as her first homeport.
Grammy Award-winning singer Kelly Clarkson served as the ship's godmother.
Norwegian Encore was officially christened in Miami on November 21, 2019.
Her inaugural Caribbean season began later that month.
The ship initially operated seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami.

Service:

2024 Refurbishment:
Norwegian Encore underwent a major refurbishment in late 2024.
The work allowed Norwegian to modify several areas of the ship based on changing passenger preferences and experience gained since the vessel entered service.
One of the most significant changes was the introduction of Spice H2O.
The adults-only outdoor venue replaced the ship's original laser tag area.
Spice H2O includes lounge areas, hot tubs, and infinity-style water features overlooking the ship's wake.
The Haven by Norwegian was also enhanced, including changes to premium accommodations.
Other passenger spaces and facilities received updates during the refurbishment.

Encore Speedway:
Encore Speedway was one of the signature attractions introduced with the ship.
The two-level race track was developed from similar attractions aboard Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Bliss.

Several sections extend beyond the side of the ship.
