Seven Seas Grandeur was docked at Berth 93 in Los Angeles, California, on January 25, 2026, at the beginning of a scheduled voyage linking Southern California with Miami. Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ published itinerary listed a 16-night Stars & Salsa cruise, combining destinations along the Pacific coast of Mexico and Central America with a Panama Canal transit and Caribbean calls. These photographs feature the ship alongside at the berth, providing a separate gallery from our evening photographs taken in Los Angeles on the same date.

Built by Fincantieri in Italy, Seven Seas Grandeur was delivered in November 2023 as the third Explorer-class ship. She followed Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor, continuing Regent’s approach of combining suite accommodation with a comparatively small passenger complement. Studio DADO designed her interiors, while commissioned artwork and decorative installations gave the new ship an individual identity within the closely related series.

By January 2026, the ship had completed more than two years of passenger service, with an operating history that included Mediterranean, Caribbean and Panama Canal cruising. The scheduled journey from Los Angeles began with two days at sea before Cabo San Lucas, followed by further calls along the Pacific coast. A Panama Canal transit on February 5 and subsequent Caribbean destinations were listed ahead of her scheduled arrival in Miami on February 10.

History and Features

Construction and Delivery:

  • Fincantieri built Seven Seas Grandeur in Italy, continuing its construction partnership with Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

  • Her float out ceremony took place on February 2, 2023, preceding the final months of outfitting and completion.

  • The ship was delivered on November 13, 2023, with the shipbuilder announcing the handover the following day.

  • Her introduction completed the three ship Explorer-class series, bringing another purpose-built vessel into Regent’s fleet.

The Explorer Class:

  • Seven Seas Explorer introduced the class in 2016, followed by Seven Seas Splendor in 2020.

  • Seven Seas Grandeur joined the series in 2023, retaining its emphasis on suite accommodation and substantial public spaces.

  • The three ships share a general scale of about 55,500 gross tons, with passenger numbers below those of much larger contemporary cruise ships.

  • Each vessel has its own interior treatments and artwork, allowing individual design choices within a related shipbuilding platform.

Scale and Interior Design:

  • At about 735 feet long, Seven Seas Grandeur combines accommodation for around 750 passengers with multiple lounges, restaurants and outdoor areas.

  • Passenger accommodation consists of suites with private balconies, extending the living space toward the sea.

  • Studio DADO’s interior design uses distinct materials, furnishings and decorative treatments to give public rooms their own character.

  • The arrangement reflects Regent’s emphasis on space and residential surroundings, carried through both accommodation and shared passenger areas.

Maiden Voyage and Service:

  • Seven Seas Grandeur began her maiden voyage from Trieste to Barcelona on November 18, 2023.

  • An Atlantic crossing subsequently brought the ship to Miami, where her christening took place on December 10.

  • Sarah Fabergé, a founding member of the Fabergé Heritage Council, served as the ship’s godmother.

  • Her early service included Caribbean and Panama Canal itineraries, followed by Mediterranean cruising and further seasonal deployments.

Art Aboard the Ship:

  • Seven Seas Grandeur entered service with a collection of about 1,600 artworks distributed throughout her passenger spaces.

  • The collection includes works by Pablo Picasso alongside specially commissioned sculptures and larger decorative installations.

  • A bronze and hand-cast glass bonsai cherry tree sculpture stands outside the Pacific Rim restaurant.

  • Walter Goldfarb’s tapestry, “The Enchanted Tree,” forms another substantial installation within the ship’s interior.

Journey in Jewels:

  • Fabergé created “Journey in Jewels” specifically for Seven Seas Grandeur as a focal point of her art collection.

  • The commission was introduced as the first Fabergé egg to reside permanently at sea.

  • Its design draws on ocean colors, with blue and green tones connecting the work to the ship’s maritime setting.

  • The piece was unveiled during the Miami christening, linking the ship’s introduction with Regent’s collaboration with the House of Fabergé.

The Scheduled Stars & Salsa Cruise:

  • The published itinerary listed departure from Los Angeles on January 25, 2026, beginning a 16-night cruise to Miami.

  • Two sea days preceded Cabo San Lucas, with Acapulco, Puerto Quetzal and Puntarenas also scheduled along the Pacific portion.

  • A Panama Canal transit was listed for February 5, followed by Cartagena and George Town in the Caribbean.

  • The cruise was scheduled to conclude in Miami on February 10, connecting the Pacific and Atlantic sides of the Americas.
