RMS QUEEN MARY - 1964 TICKETS & MORE
This collection preserves the story of my friend, jazz musician Alan Rowe, through the original tickets, daily programs, menus and other memorabilia he saved from his September 10–15, 1964 transatlantic crossing aboard RMS Queen Mary (Cunard). Traveling Tourist Class from Southampton to New York, Alan was on his way to the United States after receiving a full scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston.
QUEEN ELIZABETH
In June 2022, we traveled aboard Queen Elizabeth (Cunard Line) on a seven-night roundtrip Alaska cruise from Vancouver, British Columbia. The voyage combined scenic cruising in Glacier Bay with visits to Icy Strait Point, Sitka, and Ketchikan before returning to Vancouver on July 1. This master gallery brings together our complete voyage aboard the third Cunard ship to carry the Queen Elizabeth name.
TS GOLDEN BEAR
TS Golden Bear returned to her homeport at Cal Maritime in Vallejo, California, on July 7, 2023, completing the 2023 Summer Sea Term. The more than 60-day training voyage was my son’s first cruise aboard the ship as a Cal Maritime cadet and included ports across the Pacific as well as crossings of the Equator and International Date Line.
KONINGSDAM
Koningsdam (Holland America Line) is docked at Canada Place in Vancouver on July 2, 2022, preparing for another Alaska voyage. The first of Holland America’s Pinnacle-class ships was photographed one day after we returned to Vancouver from our Alaska cruise aboard Queen Elizabeth.
NORWEGIAN SPIRIT
The second half of our 16-night Fire & Ice cruise aboard Norwegian Spirit (Norwegian Cruise Line) began in Alaska on May 4, 2023, following five days crossing the Pacific from Hawaii. Days 11–17 included Icy Strait Point, Glacier Bay, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan before the voyage concluded in Vancouver, British Columbia.
NORWEGIAN SPIRIT
The first half of our 16-night Fire & Ice cruise aboard Norwegian Spirit (Norwegian Cruise Line) began in Honolulu on April 24, 2023. After visiting Kona, Kauai, Maui and Hilo, the voyage continued with five days across the Pacific toward Alaska, creating a dramatic transition from the Hawaiian Islands to the northern portion of the cruise.

OVATION OF THE SEAS
Ovation of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International) was docked at Canada Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, on May 11, 2023. The 2016-built Quantum-class cruise ship was photographed alongside the city's downtown cruise terminal, with Vancouver Harbour and the mountains of the North Shore forming the backdrop.
RMS QUEEN MARY 2
On Day 6 of our July 2004 Northern Europe cruise, Queen Mary 2 (Cunard Line) visited Ålesund, Norway, on July 16 during the ocean liner's inaugural year. Arriving after the previous day's visits to Hellesylt and Geiranger, the call continued Queen Mary 2's first voyage through Norway and placed Cunard's new flagship against Ålesund's distinctive island and mountain setting.
RMS QUEEN MARY
RMS Queen Mary is one of the most celebrated ocean liners of the twentieth century and an enduring symbol of the golden age of transatlantic travel. Built for Cunard White Star and entering service in 1936, she competed for the Blue Riband, served as a vital Allied troopship during World War II, and carried passengers across the North Atlantic for more than three decades. Since completing her final voyage in 1967, Queen Mary has been permanently preserved in Long Beach, California.
PEARL SEAWAYS
On July 23, 2022, we boarded the Pearl Seaways (DFDS Seaways) to Oslo, Norway in the vibrant port of Copenhagen, Denmark, under a clear blue sky. This robust cruiseferry, serving as a vital link between Denmark and Norway, stood ready for its next journey.
COLOR FANTASY
On July 22, 2022, the Color Fantasy (Color Line) was docked in Oslo, Norway, under cloudy skies. The vessel, renowned for its amenities and impressive size, stood majestically against the backdrop of the harbor, showcasing its design and modern features.
CROWN SEAWAYS
Crown Seaways stood beneath a blue summer sky in Copenhagen, Denmark, on July 16, 2022. Sailing for DFDS Seaways at the time, this cruise ferry combined overnight passenger travel with vehicle transport on the route linking Denmark and Norway.
CROWN PRINCESS
Crown Princess (Princess Cruises) is docked at Canada Place in Vancouver on May 12, 2023. The Crown-class ship was photographed two days after we completed our Norwegian Spirit Fire & Ice voyage in Vancouver, during the opening weeks of the 2023 Alaska cruise season.
RMS QUEEN MARY 2
On Day 5 of our July 2004 Northern Europe cruise, Queen Mary 2 (Cunard Line) made her first visit to Norway, calling at Hellesylt before continuing through Geirangerfjord to Geiranger on July 15. The inaugural-year visit placed the new ocean liner among the steep mountains and waterfalls of the Norwegian fjords, where Marco Polo (Orient Lines) was also anchored at Geiranger.
CARNIVAL PARADISE
On August 31, 2007, the Carnival Paradise (Carnival Cruise Line) was docked in Long Beach, California, preparing to depart on a three-day cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. The Fantasy-class ship had been based in Long Beach since 2004, operating Carnival’s year-round short cruises to Baja California and Catalina Island.
CARNIVAL SPLENDOR
Carnival Splendor (Carnival Cruise Line) is seen in Long Beach, California, on August 22, 2010, during her early years of service. The 2008-built ship was operating year-round Mexican Riviera cruises from Southern California, bringing one of Carnival’s newer and larger ships to its growing Long Beach operation.
MONARCH OF THE SEAS
Monarch of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International) departed Los Angeles Harbor on April 14, 2006, under overcast skies. The 1991-built Sovereign-class cruise ship was a familiar presence in Southern California during this period, operating short cruises from Los Angeles to destinations along the Baja California coast.
VISION OF THE SEAS
Vision of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International) departed Los Angeles Harbor under clear skies on April 9, 2006. Entering service in 1998, the Vision-class cruise ship was photographed during a period when Royal Caribbean maintained a regular presence in Southern California.
