QUEEN MARY 2
Queen Mary 2 (Cunard) spent February 6, 2026, in San Francisco during her 108-night World Voyage, completing an overnight call before departing beneath the Golden Gate Bridge for Hawaii and the Pacific. The visit came just four days after her historic Royal Rendezvous with RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, placing San Francisco at an especially memorable point in the ocean liner’s journey around the world.

Day 5 of our Alaska cruise aboard Queen Elizabeth (Cunard) brought us to Sitka on June 28, 2022. Following our visit to Icy Strait Point the previous day, the ship continued through Southeast Alaska to Sitka before sailing south toward Ketchikan.

Day 2 of our Alaska cruise aboard Queen Elizabeth (Cunard) was spent at sea on June 25, 2022, as we sailed north from Vancouver toward Alaska. Our first full day aboard gave us time to explore the ship before reaching Glacier Bay the following day.

Day 6 of our Alaska cruise aboard Queen Elizabeth (Cunard) brought us to Ketchikan on June 29, 2022. After visiting Sitka the previous day, the ship continued south through Southeast Alaska for our final Alaskan port before beginning the return voyage to Vancouver.

Our Alaska cruise aboard the Queen Elizabeth (Cunard) began at Vancouver’s Canada Place on June 24, 2022. These photographs were taken while the ship was docked and we were preparing to board for a seven-night voyage to Alaska, with visits to Glacier Bay, Icy Strait Point, Sitka, and Ketchikan before returning to Vancouver.

On December 14, 2025, the Queen Anne (Cunard) was in Southampton, United Kingdom, following an overnight voyage from Hamburg. Introduced in 2024 as Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne combines the line’s traditional ocean liner influences with a new generation of design and passenger spaces.

Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth sailed astern down Los Angeles Harbor on September 30, 2025, her illuminated decks standing out against the evening sky. The departure came between her Alaska season and a new chapter sailing from Miami, with a Panama Canal passage connecting her Pacific and Caribbean deployments.

A July 18, 2025 visit to the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach offered another opportunity to revisit the former Cunard liner and her art deco surroundings. Permanently moored in Southern California since 1967, she preserves a connection to the era of express Atlantic crossings and the wartime service that earned her the nickname “Grey Ghost.”

Queen Mary 2 (Cunard) sailed Northern Europe in July 2004 during her inaugural year, only months after entering service as the world's newest ocean liner. We traveled aboard this early cruise from Southampton to Scotland, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands, visiting several ports that were welcoming Queen Mary 2 for the first time. This gallery serves as the main Ocean Liner Photography record of that voyage and one of our earliest experiences aboard Cunard's new flagship.

These original tickets, menus, and daily programs come from my friend Alan Rowe’s westbound crossing aboard RMS Queen Mary (Cunard Line) in September 1964. Traveling in Tourist Class, Alan was heading to the United States to study music in Boston. The documents offer a detailed glimpse of passenger life aboard the liner during her final years of transatlantic service.

On Day 6 of our July 2004 Northern Europe cruise, Queen Mary 2 (Cunard Line) visited Ålesund, Norway, on July 16 during the ocean liner's inaugural year. Arriving after the previous day's visits to Hellesylt and Geiranger, the call continued Queen Mary 2's first voyage through Norway and placed Cunard's new flagship against Ålesund's distinctive island and mountain setting.

RMS Queen Mary is one of the most celebrated ocean liners of the twentieth century and an enduring symbol of the golden age of transatlantic travel. Built for Cunard White Star and entering service in 1936, she competed for the Blue Riband, served as a vital Allied troopship during World War II, and carried passengers across the North Atlantic for more than three decades. Since completing her final voyage in 1967, Queen Mary has been permanently preserved in Long Beach, California.

On Day 5 of our July 2004 Northern Europe cruise, Queen Mary 2 (Cunard Line) made her first visit to Norway, calling at Hellesylt before continuing through Geirangerfjord to Geiranger on July 15. The inaugural-year visit placed the new ocean liner among the steep mountains and waterfalls of the Norwegian fjords, where Marco Polo (Orient Lines) was also anchored at Geiranger.

Queen Mary 2 (Cunard) entered Long Beach Harbor on February 23, 2006, for her historic first meeting with RMS Queen Mary. Thousands gathered around the harbor and hundreds of boats took to the water as Cunard’s modern flagship approached her legendary namesake, bringing together two generations of transatlantic ocean liners during Queen Mary 2’s first visit to the U.S. West Coast.
